All Pittsburgh teams are scheduled to play this upcoming Memorial Day weekend, as the Riverhounds hit the road, where they’ll face Memphis 901 FC, while the Steel City squads well head north for all-Western PA encounters with Erie Commodores’ men’s and women’s teams on Friday and Saturday, while Beadling SC women’s side will also look to remain unbeaten as they’re the lone squad playing at home vs Greater Toledo Football Club (GTFC Impact).
While it’s way too early to read into anything, both Steel City squads and Beadling SC have started a combined 4-0-0 in their respective leagues, with a goal differential of plus-16.
Be sure to check out our coverage from last week’s action, including Colton Coreschi’s match report from Founders Field, as he was on hand to see Steel City FC men’s impressive win vs Flower City Union.
Steel City dominates Flower City en route to second straight win
Meanwhile, the Riverhounds (3-3-4 / W-L-D) are without a loss in their last six league matches, but still meddling, sitting at 13 points, in the USL Championship Eastern Conference table after last Saturday’s 1-1 draw vs North Carolina FC.
We’ll have more on the Hounds in this week’s Riverhounds Notebook, as we take a look at Bob Lilley’s valid concerns with his team’s lack of endurance last week, after looking so strong through the first 30 minutes, and their inability to sustain that level of play for 90 minutes.
