PIAA Girls Soccer Semifinal Round Sites/Times set

The WPIAL will be well-represented,four schools reamining in three classifications, as the PIAA Girls Soccer playoffs reach the Semifinal Round with matches now scheduled for Tuesday evening.

Class 4A

All WPIAL teams have been eliminated

Class 3A

6 pm —  Mars vs Lower Dauphin at Mansion Park Stadium, Altoona

Class 2A

5 pm — Quaker Valley vs Cathedral Prep at Franklin

Class 1A

7 pm — Springdale vs Seton LaSalle at North Allegheny

Quarterfinal Round

Saturday, November 9, 2024  

Final PIAA Girls Soccer Quarterfinal Round: Mars, Quaker Valley, Springdale and Seton LaSalle advance

Class 4A

Final — Conestoga 2, Seneca Valley 0

Class 3A

FINAL — Mars 1, South Fayette 0

Meredith Ashbaugh wasted no time, nodding in Maeve O’Leary’s corner kick minutes into the game.

FINAL — Lower Dauphin 2, Fox Chapel 1

Mars will face Lower Dauphin in semifinal round on Tuesday. 

Class 2A

FINAL — Cathedral Prep 2, North Catholic 1

FINAL — Quaker Valley 3, Trinity 0

Quaker Valley advances — will take on Cathedral Prep in the PIAA Semifinal Round on Tuesday.

Hailey Marchlewski’s brace lifted the Dynamos to the quarterfinal round victory.

John Krysinsky has covered soccer and other sports for many years for various publications and media outlets. He is also author of 'Miracle on the Mon' -- a book about the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, which chronicles the club, particularly the early years of Highmark Stadium with the narrative leading up to and centered around a remarkable match that helped provide a spark for the franchise. John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
