Fox Chapel’s Emily McKee honored as 2026 Moe Rosensteel Award recipient

This week it was announced that Fox Chapel’s Emily McKee became the seventh recipient of the Moe Rosensteel Award, which has become an annual accolade given to the most outstanding player in Western Pennsylvania girls high school soccer.

McKee, a junior, who served both as a scoring whiz when called upon, but also as a facilitator too, helped lead Fox Chapel to its second District Championship in the past three years, scoring 49 goals and added nine assists, was selected by the Rosensteel Foundation’s panel of organizers, coaches and media members.

In the WPIAL Final, in beating South Fayette, McKee’s assist paved the way for Lily McGlaughlin’s game-winner in extra time.

The Foxes started the season with six new starters, but with McKee leading the way, the team came into its own having played a challenging schedule. McKee was a freshman when Fox Chapel won th WPIAL title in 2023, after stunning the top three seeds in the Class 4A tournament.

FC Head Coach Carlo Prati told PSN that heading into the season, even as it was a rebuilding year for the Foxes. Head Coach Carlo Prati told PSN while the team adjusted to its personnel, having McKee pulling the strings and utilizing her ability on the ball helped the Foxes control tempo and dictate terms in most matches.

The other finalists were seniors Morgan Gesinski of Mt. Pleasant and Natalia DiSora of Upper St. Clair.

John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
