Ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated Cross-Tahn Derby between Robert Morris and Duquesne, Pittsburgh Soccer Now brought together three key figures who shared a locker room with Steel City FC this past summer—and are now set to square off on opposite sides of the pitch.

RMU senior netminder Josh Lane joined the show to discuss the Colonials’ 2-1-0 start, reflecting on his 2024 Horizon League title run, his development with Steel City FC, and the intensity of local rivalry matches.

Duquesne senior captains Ashwin Menon and Jaxon Ervin made a surprise cameo at the end of Lane’s interview, sharing a moment of mutual respect before diving into the Dukes’ unbeaten 2-0-1 start under head coach Chase Brooks, team leadership, and their tactical mindset heading into Moon Township.

To close out the episode, PSN summer intern Kevin Hutchinson sat down to recap his busy summer covering Western Pennsylvania soccer, from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pittsburgh Riveters SC to Steel City FC and local championship matches.

John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
