Section play officially kicked off in high school girls soccer across WPIAL Class 3A, Class 2A, and Class 1A on Monday evening, alongside a loaded non-conference schedule to wrap up the month of August.
In the first regular season test on a larger scale since PIAA eliminated overtime/extra time for regular-season matches, the new rule structure immediately showed its impact with numerous (eight to be precise) matches ending in draws after 80 minutes.
