Still, the High School Soccer season has reached the second full week where all classifications are into section play — which means the stakes are getting higher with each match.
Below we have the latest results from both Monday (a lighter slate) and Tuesday’s full slate, below with the scoreboard, plus some match updates and Social Media highlights.
A few matches and items of note from Tuesday.
- 43 GOALS! That’s right — in Class 1A — Section 2 a total of 43 goals were scored in the four combined games!
- North Allegheny earns statement win vs Seneca Valley. Though Seneca Valley has been off to scorching start, NA benefitted from an early goal from Connor Heliger.
- While Tyce Rectenwald led South Fayette to a 3-0 win, credit to Montour keeper, Liam Hovanic, who made 15 saves, doing his best to keep his team in the match.

Tuesday’s Social Media Highlights and Mini Match Capsules
North Allegheny 1, Seneca Valley 0
In what may be the headline result of the night across the WPIAL, North Allegheny handed high-powered section rival Seneca Valley a 1-0 defeat. Senior captain Connor Heliger opened the scoring just a minute into the match, and the Tigers’ defense shut down the Raiders’ attack the rest of the way. North Allegheny improves to 4-1-0 overall (2-0 in section play) heading into another section road test at Butler on Thursday. The goal came on a long throw in from Francis Randiga connecting with Josh Tufts, who redirected the ball over to the other side of the box for Hliger to put it through.
South Fayette 3, Montour 0
South Fayette put together a complete performance at home, shutting out Montour 3-0. Tyce Rectenwald spearheaded the offense with a two-goal performance, opening the scoring 38 minutes into the first half and striking again 35 minutes into the second half. Lucas Patel added an insurance goal nine minutes into the second half. Drew Johnson posted the clean sheet for South Fayette, while Montour keeper Liam Hovanic turned away 15 shots under heavy pressure.
Plum 2, Mars 0
Raf Kolankowski’s Plum side stayed perfect on the young season, improving to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in section play with a 2-0 victory over Mars. Hudson Strasser and Kent Holmes provided the goals for the Mustangs, while Chase Eber secured the clean sheet between the pipes.
Moon 2, Butler 0
Moon protected home turf with a strong 2-0 non-conference victory over Butler. The Tigers’ back four delivered a stout clean sheet, while Dunn and Weiler provided the goal-scoring finish off assists from Morales and Scott. Moon hits the road Thursday for a tough section test at Pine-Richland.
Franklin Regional 6, Armstrong 0
Franklin Regional’s offense exploded in a 6-0 shutout win over Armstrong. Acosta led the charge with two goals and two assists, while Alexander, Greenbaum, Sheetz, and Smith Aguilera each added single strikes. Becerra, Bayne, and Murray contributed to the attack with assists.
Chartiers Valley 5, Blackhawk 1
Chartiers Valley celebrated Senior Night in style, earning their first section win of the season behind a hat trick performance from Yazeed Hamdan. Hamdan also picked up an assist, with additional goals coming from Jake Walker and Sean Walsh (converting from the penalty spot). Walker, Aiden Ozbey, and Michael Vayanos added assists on the night.
East Allegheny 4, Steel Valley 0
East Allegheny (2-4-0, 1-2-0) secured their first Section 2-2A victory of the season with a convincing 4-0 home shutout against Steel Valley. Colin Goldstein led the attack with two goals, while Lennon Callan and Vinny DiCenzo added a goal apiece. Cayden Yusko and J. Santiago Ortiz set up the attack with assists.
Elizabeth Forward 4, McGuffey 0
Elizabeth Forward rolled to a 4-0 Section 3-2A victory over McGuffey. Marasco sparked the offense with a two-goal performance, while Davis and Woleslagle each found the back of the net. McCune and Hennicke provided the assists to complete the shutout win.
Burrell 4, Highlands 2
Burrell earned a 4-2 victory over Highlands powered by a hat trick performance from Vin Gurrenni. Theo Watson added an additional goal to seal the win for Burrell.
