WPIAL Boys Soccer Final Dates and Times are set

It’s official!  The WPIAL boys soccer finals to be played this coming weekend at Highmark Stadium have been set.

Here are the dates/times of the boys games:

The girls matches are yet to be determined, but will be announced on Tuesday morning after the semifinals have been played on Monday night.

With the Riverhounds SC hosting the USL Championship Eastern Conference Semifinal playoff match on Saturday  — scheduled for 7 p.m. kickoff, along with the announcement of the boys schedule that includes one match on Saturday (West A vs Franklin Regional at 2 p.m.), there will be spots open for matches on Thursday night (6 p.m. time slot), potentially Friday late afternoon (3:45 p.m. time slot), and Saturday morning and early afternoon.

It appears that the additional Saturday morning time slots will now likely be moved to 9 or 9:30 a.m. for the first game, and and 11:30/11:45 a.m. for the second game.  The 2 p.m. time slot will likely have to be the latest the WPIAL can play due to needing to have Highmark Stadium ready and prepared for the 7 p.m. USL match.

John Krysinsky has covered soccer and other sports for many years for various publications and media outlets including Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the United States. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
