PIAA boys and girls soccer quarterfinals times and locations set

In Tuesday’s PIAA Soccer first-round playoff matches, a total of 15 WPIAL schools, including eight boys and seven girls teams advanced to the quarterfinals which will be played Saturday at select locations.

The full schedule has been finalized including all of the locations and times.

PIAA QUARTERFINAL SCHEDULE (WPIAL – District 7 schools)  

All matches to be played Saturday, November 9

WPIAL schools are in bold.  Click links below to see full bracket for each classification.

 

BOYS

Boys Class 1A

11:30 a.m.    Winchester Thurston vs Lancaster County Day on Saturday (at Mansion Park Stadium, Altoona)

2 p.m.    Springdale vs Greensburg Central Catholic (at Peters Township)

 

Boys Class 2A

Noon   Quaker Valley vs Punxsutawny (at Somerset)

4 p.m.    Deer Lakes vs Mercyhurst Prep (at Slippery Rock)

 

Boys Class 3A

1:30 p.m.  West Allegheny vs Lower Dauphin (at Mansion Park Stadium, Altoona)

2 p.m.  Franklin Regional vs Cathedral Prep (at Slippery Rock)

 

Boys Class 4A

4.p.m.   Mt. Lebanon vs Central Bucks West (Mechanicsberg)


GIRLS 

Girls Class 1A

12 Noon  Greensburg Central Catholic vs Freedom (at Peters Township)

12 Noon   Shady Side Academy vs Mercer (at Slippery Rock)

 

Girls Class 2A

2 p.m.   North Catholic vs Bedford (Forest Hills HS, Sidman)

 

Girls Class 3A

2 p.m.   West Allegheny vs Mars (at Chartiers Valley)

 

Girls Class 4A

2 p.m.  North Allegheny vs Boyertown (Mechanicsberg)

 

John Krysinsky has covered soccer and other sports for many years for various publications and media outlets including Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the United States. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
