Ellie Coffield

Junior Midfielder – Mars High School

Ellie Coffield, Mars High School, Class of 2021 and a University of Pittsburgh commit just recently helped lead Mars to a WPIAL Class 3A Title and it’s second PIAA State Title in the school’s history. Coffield’s contributions went far beyond her goal and assist totals, as she did contribute 21 goals in the regular season through the WPIAL playoffs, but more importantly provided a valuable leadership role as a box-to-box midfielder on a team that finished the season without a loss. Her contributions were invaluable on both sides of the field, as Mars were one of the strongest defensive units and dictated play in every contest this season with very few exceptions. The Fighting Planets allowed just three goals since the beginning of October, two of those in the four PIAA tournament matches against the best teams in the state.

Congratulations to Ellie for her outstanding achievements in 2019 — and throughout her high school, club and youth career thus far.  She is a player whose dedication and love for the game symbolizes the values that made Moe Rosensteel the special person she was on and off the field.  The establishment of this award is to also help with the continued growth in girls’ soccer and bring more light to the great young women who play this game for their school and community.

It is our pleasure to present this award to a very deserving winner — Ellie Coffield.
