WPIAL Boys Soccer Scores (9/28/2020): Plum ends Franklin Regional’s 45-game regular season win streak

Here’s the scoreboard from a busy Monday night of WPIAL boys soccer action.

There were two notable surprises — one coming in 4A, when Brashear knocked off Bethel Park, 3-2.

And the other was in a rematch of last week’s Pittsburgh Soccer Now Featured Game, when Plum beat Franklin Regional tonight in the rematch between the Class 3A, Section 4 rivals.

The Mustangs upset the two-time defending WPIAL champions, as D.D. Flowers had a goal and assisted on another to lead his school to the victory which now bring the two schools into a tie in the section standings, though Franklin Regional (7-1) has played two more games than Plum (5-1).

In addition, Franklin Regional’s 45-game unbeaten streak in the regular season is over — a streak that dated to 2017.
