Despite a tough result, with the Riverhounds SC dropping a 1-0 decision to the Charlotte Independence at Highmark Stadium on Saturday night, all was not lost.

FINAL: Charlotte Independence 1, Riverhounds SC 0

Pittsburgh’s soccer fans returned to Highmark Stadium for the first time since COVID-19 as attendance at Highmark Stadium was a sellout total of 2,076, which was the maximum number of fans allowed under current Pennsylvania physical distancing guidelines.’

“It was exciting,” Riverhounds Head Coach Bob Lilley said. “It’s too bad we couldn’t deliver, but it was great to see the fans come out and support our guys tonight.”

We didn’t have one, but two contributors taking photos of this momentous match as both regular PSN contributors Mark Goodman and Ed Thompson were on hand to get some first-rate images from the action.
