WPIAL Soccer Updates / Tweets / Highlights

It’s the first Saturday of High School soccer season, and that means is a busy slate of both boys and girls non-section matches and opening weekend classics and tournaments.

For the 2023 High School soccer season, we will be using this forum to provide updates, scores, highlights, share your tweets and more from each day of action across the district.  The Pittsburgh Soccer Now team will be providing coverage at the JRK Classic hosted by Pine-Richland, which will bring together 12 boys teams, including 10 WPIAL schools and another two non-WPIAL schools (Wheeling Park and Kiski School).

We have the full schedule below.  Last night, the JRK Classic kicked off with Wheeling Park beating the hosts, Pine-Richland, 3-0, while Winchester Thurston beat North Catholic, 4-2.

Matt Popchock will be providing the live broadcast on PSN’s YouTube Channel of host Pine-Richland as they take on North Catholic (8 p.m.).

Earlier this week, on the season kickoff edition of the Kids on the Pitch Podcast, Pine-Richland’s Head Coach Jordan Wiegand joined Matt and John Krysinsky.
