PIAA Boys Soccer Semifinal Round Scoreboard: Quaker Valley and Charleroi headed to the Finals

The PIAA (State) boys soccer playoffs continued Tuesday with four WPIAL teams remaining: Norwin (4A), Quaker Valley (2A) and Washington County section rivals Bentworth and Charleroi, and when the smoke cleared, it was Quaker Valley in 2A and Charleroi in 1A, who will be moving on to the PIAA Championship games this weekend in Mechanicsburg.

Quaker Valley beat Central Columbia, 1-0, and in the fourth match between the WPIAL section rivals, Charleroi and Bentworth played another thriller, with Bryce Large scoring the game-winner with just 25 seconds left.

Semi-Finals: Tuesday, November 14  – WPIAL School Remaining (Regional Sites)

Class 4a

FINAL:  Central Bucks South 1, Norwin 0 

Norwin’s magical run ends, as they can’t find the equalizer in Chambersburg.

Class 2A

FINAL:  Quaker Valley  1, Central Columbia 0

Class 1A

FINAL:  Charleroi 2, Bentworth 1

1:30 p.m.  Class 2A – Quaker Valley vs Camp Hills/Blue Mountain winner

Saturday, November 18 (Eagle View MS, Mechanicsburg)

1:30 p.m.   Class 1A – Charleroi vs Delco Christian

He is also author of 'Miracle on the Mon' -- a book about the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, which chronicles the club, particularly the early years of Highmark Stadium with the narrative leading up to and centered around a remarkable match that helped provide a spark for the franchise. John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
