After another 1-0 week centered around a nail biting conference win, Pitt Men’s Soccer saw the fruits of their labor rewarded on Tuesday with their highest ranking of the season in both the United Soccer Coaches Poll and the Top Drawer Soccer poll.
The United Soccer Coaches Poll clocked the Panthers in at No. 2, one spot better than their No. 3 debut back in August. Notably, they also finished three spots ahead of traditional rival (if less so in soccer) West Virginia, who slipped from the top spot to No. 5 after a tie against Loyola Marymount. Fellow ACC club Stanford claimed the No. 1 ranking, with six conference teams cracking the Top 25 in total… and four of them in the top six!

Top Drawer Soccer, the other major poll, slotted Pitt at No. 5, a one spot improvement from last week.
Following that win, Pitt Men’s Soccer sits at 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the ACC. They’ll face Cleveland State on the road tonight, September 17, with a chance to improve on that record before hosting conference foe Boston College at 7pm Friday.
