Pittsburgh Soccer Scoreboard (Saturday, May 24, 2025)

FINAL: Riveters SC 3, Flower City 2

The Riveters earned the club’s first-ever victory, on the road in Rochester.

Two goals in less than a minute gave Pittsburgh a quick two goal advantage — both coming from forward Tanum Nelson.

Piper Coffield set up the first tally in the 31st minute, with a long free kick into the box, and Nelson there to cash in when Flower City couldn’t clear.

On the second goal, Nelson struck it from distance.

The Black and Gold took a commanding 3-0 lead in the 80th minute, when a corner kick, the ball was touched back to Lucia Wells (North Allegheny / Pitt) who delivered a pinpoint finish from the top of the box.

Flower City got two back to make it interesting in the late stages but the Riveters are now 1-0-1 (three points), early in the their inaugural season.
