On the eve of the Pittsburgh Riveters SC first-ever postseason appearance, the squad’s Head Coach, Scott Gibson sat down with Pittsburgh Soccer Now’s John Krysinsky for an insightful interview session.
Having been there to help foster the start and as a constant in the incremental growth and ascension of the Riverhounds Development Academy, Gibson was tabbed to take the role as the first-ever coach of W League League squad that would play at Highmark Stadium and generate a new level of excitement for women’s soccer.
“It’s been amazing,” Gibson said.
“We’ve we’ve loved every minute of it. You know, since we started building the team back. Well, when that whatever that was last last October, November, that journey began, you know with the first player, Tessa (Dellarose), and then it just sort of went from there. And and that was a that was a fun journey. I mean, obviously, we’ve came a long way since then, you know, and I just think it’s I think it’s amazing for our organization. You know that not only the players who have been the players have been absolutely fantastic, but the support staff too.”
