Four Pitt men’s soccer players land on 2026 MLS SuperDraft’s eligible players list

Four members of the 2025 Pitt men’s soccer roster landed on the Major League Soccer’s 2026 SuperDraft eligible players list released on Wednesday.

The 2026 MLS SuperDraft will take place on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. ET. Please note that the list of attendees is subject to change prior to the event.

Among the players on the list include last year’s ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Casper Svendby, defender Jackson Gilman, forward Lasse Dahl and midfielder Tomas Bedouret.

Heading into the 2025 season, Svendby, a transfer from Dayton was one of the top prospects, landing on the MAC Hermann Preseason Watch List.  However, the outside back/winger spent much of an injury-plagued season in and out of the lineup, starting 10 matches in 15 appearances.

Gilman was a starter for all four seasons on Pitt’s backline. The former Philadelphia Union Academy standout started his Pitt career as a freshman outside back on the last Panthers squad that made it to the NCAA Men’s Division I College Cup (in 2022).

Dahl appeared in 15 matches, including 12 starts for the Panthers in his sophomore season, playing a total of 898 minutes while scoring three goals and adding an assist.

A transfer from Oregon, Bedouret appeared in and started 15 matches, added an assist in the ACC Tournament win over Clemson (11/5).  The native of Rosario, Argentina recorded 1246 minutes while compiling a .231 SOG%.

For the first time since 2017, no Pitt players were invited to MLS College Soccer Players Showcase, an annual four-day talent evaluation event that provides technical staffs from MLS clubs an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of the SuperDraft.

Pitt has had a player taken in every SuperDraft in seven of the past eight years (see full list below).

In this year’s SuperDraft, which will be four rounds, MLS teams can select from 436 players representing 150 different schools. D.C. United own the top pick, with Atlanta United (second), FC Dallas (third), Sporting Kansas City (fourth), and Orlando City (fifth) rounding out the top five.

Thursday’s SuperDraft coverage can be found on MLSsoccer.com and MLS social handles.

The full list is subject to change.
