Pitt men’s soccer Head Coach Jay Vidovich signs contract extension through 2028

After leading the Pitt Panthers men’s soccer program to two College Cups and transforming Pittsburgh into a perennial national powerhouse, Jay Vidovich has officially solidified and extended his tenure in the Steel City.

The University, through its Men’s Soccer social media platforms, announced that Vidovich has signed a contract extension through 2028.

Since arriving in 2015, the two-time ACC Coach of the Year and five-time National Coach of the Year has orchestrated one of the most remarkable turnarounds in collegiate sports, evolving Pitt from an ACC underdog and afterthought into a program that consistently produces professional talent and deep postseason runs.

Known for his attention to detail and a high standard of excellence along with a tactical philosophy that prioritizes technical growth, Vidovich has often remarked in interviews with Pittsburgh Soccer Now that his goal was never just to win games, but to help change the culture of soccer in the region.

“Our challenge now is to continue to push to improve and evolve,” Vidovich said ahead of the 2025 season.

As he enters this next chapter, Vidovich’s legacy is already cemented as one of the greatest technical minds in the history of the college game, with this extension ensuring that his blueprint for success will continue to define the landscape of men’s college soccer for years to come.
