RMU Men Win 3rd Straight #PGHSoccer

The Robert Morris University men’s soccer team extended its win streak to three matches with a 2-1 victory at Lehigh Saturday afternoon. The win also puts the Colonials at 3-3 on the season while the Mountain Hawks slip to 2-4. The result comes on the heels of victories against St. Bonaventure and Pitt.

After a scoreless first half, Robert Morris got on the board in the 55th minute on Jake Cooper’s second goal of the season. That lead would double just eight minutes later when Rafael Bruzual deflected a free kick from Keane McIvor to make it 2-0. It was the third goal of the year for Bruzual. McIvor has now had an assist on three of the goals last four goals.

The host Mountain Hawks found the net just 59 seconds after the Bruzual score, Kevin Klingenberg’s first of the year making it a one-goal game.

Fondi and the Colonials would hold on though, the junior keeper finishing the contest with four saves. Jacob Gottwald matched that save total.

The Colonials make the short trek from Moon Township to the bluff in downtown Pittsburgh for a 7:00 p.m. match Friday, Sept. 23.
