WPIAL standouts Rytel, Sinnott among Pitt women’s soccer’s commitments on early NLI day

The early National Letter of Intent day has provided Pitt women’s head coach Randy Waldrum  with the opportunity to announce his inaugural recruiting class Wednesday afternoon, as the Panthers welcome eight new members to the University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer program.

The group is the first full class for Waldrum, who took over the Panther program in December 2017.

We are very excited to have a player of this quality on our team. Anna helped guide her Burlington Bayhawks club team to a third place finish in the Canadian national championships along with club teammate Amanda West.”

Her leadership ability and communication skills are at an elite level that is vital for success in the ACC. Caitlyn comes from one of the top youth club programs in the country with PDA and will be well prepared to play right away.”

WALDRUM ON WEST: “Amanda is a goal-scorer. She has tremendous pace, composure and ability in and around the goal that will have an immediate effect on the 2019 team. She helped lead her Burlington Bayhawks club team to one of the most successful youth teams in Canada finishing third in their national championships. We could see her one day representing her country on a national team.”

John Krysinsky has covered soccer and other sports for many years for various publications and media outlets. He is also author of 'Miracle on the Mon' -- a book about the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, which chronicles the club, particularly the early years of Highmark Stadium with the narrative leading up to and centered around a remarkable match that helped provide a spark for the franchise. John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
