Veteran pro defender Skylar Thomas has played every minute of the first four games for Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, fitting right in on the back line for a team that needed to replace a couple of stalwarts in Joe Greenspan and Tobi Adewole. Thomas, a Canadian national who formerly played in the Toronto FC development system and attended Syracuse University, talked with me about the rising level of the USL Championship, making his 6-foot-4 frame a target on restarts, his impressions on playing for coach Bob Lilley, his relationship with countrymen Ryan James and Jordan Dover, and how the team might rebound from a pair of heartbreaking losses in Week 3.
