Steel City FC men’s soccer team completed an impressive regular season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) by playing to a 1-1 draw at Cleveland SC at George Finne Stadium in Berea, OH on Friday night.

With the result, the Steel City FC squad comprised of many current and former college players from the Greater Pittsburgh area or connected to Pittsburgh college programs, finishes its 12-match regular season without a loss for the first time in club history, boasting a 10-0-2 record, and in first place in the Great Lakes Conference in the NPSL’s Midwest Region.

Former Duquesne University and Shaler High School standout Ryan Landry scored the lone goal in the 39th minute, for Steel City on Friday.  Fighting to secure the last playoff spot, Cleveland countered to level the match in the 52nd minute, as Bojan Kolevski hit the equalizer.

The league playoffs begin this week, as Steel City will have a bye, and are set to host the Great Lakes Conference final, against the winner of Michigan Rangers vs Cleveland SC match.  The Conference final will be played at Founders Field on Saturday, July 15, with an approximate 5:30 p.m. kickoff time set.
