BOYS SCOREBOARD

The boys soccer scoreboard on Tuesday night was highlighted by a battle of unbeaten teams at the top of the Class 4A, Section 1, Seneca Valley and North Allegheny.

When the dust cleared, a match with plenty of twists and turns, ended in a 1-1 draw.

With this result, Seneca Valley (8-0-1, 6-0-1 in Section) extends its two-and-a-half season long unbeaten streak to 50 matches, while North Allegheny (9-0-1, 6-0-1 Section 1) keeps pace with the two-time defending WPIAL and PIAA champions.

As they’ve done a few times this season, North Allegheny scored very early, as senior captain Arnav Patel scored in the 4th minute to give the Tigers the lead.

The Raiders finally broke through when Cole Kamarec got behind the NA defense, but was tripped up by NA keeper Dante Accamando in the goal box. Junior Tyler Prex converted the PK to level the match in the 49th minute.

Accamando stood tall on the night, making 10 saves in the face of constant pressure from Seneca Valley.
