Twitter Reaction to Pitt Women’s Soccer Victory over Memphis in Sweet 16

Pitt women’s soccer defeated Memphis Sunday night 3-0 in the Sweet 16, scoring three goals in the second half to ensure a place in the Elite Eight for the first time in program history.

The win was another great moment for Pitt fans this weekend. Not only did women’s soccer also beat No. 2 Arkansas on Friday night, but football finally won with a victory over Boston College on Thursday for Senior Night,  men’s basketball demolished Jacksonville Friday night, volleyball came back and reverse swept No. 4 Louisville in front of a record crowd at the Petersen Events Center on Saturday and Pitt Wrestling defeated in-state rival No. 17 Lehigh Sunday afternoon.

Pitt fans took to Twitter to celebrate the great win and the great weekend overall. Pitt women’s soccer will face No. 1 Florida State in the Elite Eight in Tallahassee, Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Pitt advances to their first NCAA Quarterfinal ever.

It was a miracle for WSOC to win a conference game 5 years ago.
