After four seasons with Riverhounds, Luke Biasi signs with Phoenix Rising FC

Another Championship winning contributor to the Riverhounds has signed elsewhere, as Phoenix Rising FC today announced it has inked defender Luke Biasi to a multi-year contract, pending league and federation approval.

Biasi, 26, joins Rising following four seasons with the Riverhounds SC where he contributed seven assists across 120 appearances (91 starts) — proving to an important and versatile piece to a club that captured the first league title in Club history.

In his first four professional seasons in Pittsburgh, Biasi could be counted on to be a valuable two-way presence on the wing as an outside back who was among the most efficient tacklers and stoppers, but also could get into the attacking third to generate chances.

In 2025, Biasi appeared in 40 matches across all competitions, helping anchor a defense that didn’t concede a single goal in its final six matches en route to winning the 2025 USL Championship Final.

Biasi now joins three valuable contributors from the title winning squad who had expired contracts who will be moving on — as postseason MVP and goalkeeper Eric Dick announced Friday and All-USL Championship defender Sean Suber added on Saturday that they won’t be back in Pittsburgh.
