WPIAL / PIAA Boys Soccer Daily Report (Aug. 29-30): Seneca Valley rolls, Upper St Clair and Pine-Richland play to draw and Saturday showcase wrap

After Friday’s “soft” opening slate across the region, Saturday brought a much busier schedule packed with high-level non-conference showcases and cross-classification clashes that served as rigorous early-season tests for top programs across Western PA.

Below we have full results from Saturday plus the schedule for today coming as this is on the of rare Sundays there will be action across the district as some showcases extend another day.

JRK Memorial Classic: Raiders Dominate, USC Earns Draw at Pine-Richland

PSN’s Matt Popchock was on-site at Pine-Richland on Saturday, providing live audio play-by-play for a pair of marquee clashes at the JRK Memorial Classic.

In the opening match, Seneca Valley put on a dominant display from start to finish, rolling to a 6-0 shutout against Philadelphia-based 3A power Archbishop Ryan in a battle of the Raiders. Jacob Prex, Trey Houser, and Kyle DeMaster led the charge on the scoresheet for SV.

In the late match, two WPIAL Class 4A contenders battled through a physical, hard-fought opener as host Pine-Richland played Upper St. Clair to a 1-1 draw, ushering in the Bryan Fegley era for the Panthers. Kason Straub put USC on the board in the 25th minute before Pine-Richland responded with an Ishaan Gupta goal in the 62nd minute to split the points.
