ACC Men’s Soccer Tournament Set: Pitt set to host Syracuse at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Wednesday

The regular season dust has settled across the conference, confirming what Jay Vidovich and the Panthers set out to achieve down the stretch: No. 17 Pitt (9-4-3, 4-2-2 ACC) officially holds the No. 4 seed in the 2026 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship bracket.

The top-four finish guarantees the Panthers home-field advantage for both the First Round and the Quarterfinals at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Pitt will open its postseason campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7:00 p.m. ET, hosting No. 13 seed Syracuse (7-7-2, 1-5-2 ACC) on ACC Network Extra.

Wednesday’s fixture marks the second meeting between the programs this autumn. In their October 2 clash at SU Soccer Stadium, Pitt showed immense character to earn a 1-1 draw after playing 49 minutes down a man following a 41st-minute red card to captain Logan Oliver.

Albert Thorsen gave Pitt the early lead off an Anders Bordoy rebound in the 13th minute, and the Panthers’ low block stood tall until Syracuse’s Pedro Gulli leveled in the 77th minute. The tight margins of that October duel serve as a reminder of the depth in the ACC, where low-seeded sides like former national champion Syracuse pose serious landmines in knockout play.
