The sites and times have been announced for the PIAA Boys/Girls Soccer Quarterfinal round games to be played on Saturday, November 12.
In round of 16, the WPIAL teams fared very well, with 10 of the 12 boys teams playing advancing (and one – Pine-Richland lost to section rivals North Allegheny) and 8 of 11 WPIAL girls teams moved on as well (Norwin beat Fox Chapel).
There will be a few all-WPIAL match-ups including a few rematches of WPIAL 4A Finals between Norwin and Canon-McMillan (Girls) and Seneca Valley and North Allegheny, WPIAL Semifinals (Boys and Girls 1A) Seton-LaSalle vs Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic / Greensburg Central Catholic vs Vincentian.
For North Allegheny and Seneca Valley boys, it will be the fourth meeting of the year between section rivals, who battled to overtime last Thursday night at Highmark Stadium, with the Tigers prevailing on a Sean Atwater shot from 25 yards in the 91st minute.  Atwater has pulled off a remarkable three-game golden goal game-winning shots (all from distances outside the box) streak.  On Tuesday, his 40 yard free kick beat another section rival Pine-Richland for the second time in three games.
Games listed below are only those involving WPIAL teams and will be played on Saturday. All quarterfinal winners will advance to semifinals to be played on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
