Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel was taken from her family, friends and the soccer community on June 13, 2019.
Moe loved the game of soccer and got to meet so many great people along the way. Moe was able to compete for district titles with and against her friends. She understood the special relationships that playing high school soccer built and the effort that goes into it no matter what classification. Knowing that your soccer family will always be with you and some day you will look back on those long bus rides with your teammates, the training, game day and what that represented in your journey. That is why my family is proud to work in collaboration with Pittsburgh Soccer Now and the Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel Scholarship Foundation to announce the Annual Moe Rosensteel Most Outstanding Player of the Year Award will be honor its first recipient in 2019.
The winner will be chosen from a panel of people who are connected to girls high school soccer in Western Pennsylvania and had a relationship with Moe or the Rosensteel family through soccer. The award will be announced at the conclusion of the PIAA State Finals on November 16, 2019.
Through this award the Panel, the Foundation and Rosensteel Family look to keep Moe’s love for the game of soccer alive and part of Western Pennsylvania High School Soccer. Nominating and awarding a player whose dedication and love for the game symbolizes the values that made Moe the special person she was on and off the field.
The establishment of this award is to also help with the continued growth in girls’ soccer and bring more light to the great young women who play this game for their school and community.
It will be a pleasure for everyone involved with this award to present it to one deserving winner in 2019, and begin what hopes to be a very long relationship with Pittsburgh Soccer Now, our panel and the Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel Scholarship Foundation to honor one of Western Pennsylvania’s most outstanding players.
