TUESDAY’s MATCHES TO WATCH

    • Class 4A – Seneca Valley vs Fox Chapel – Erik Ingram’s Foxes are looking to keep pace with North Allegheny for the top spot in Section 3, while George Williams’ Raiders (8-4 overall, 3-3-0 in section) have struggled a bit more than some would have expected, sitting currently in fourth place, right on the edge of the playoff line in this very competitive section..  Still, Seneca Valley is a very talented team with Tyler Prex as a dangerous threat any time he touches the ball. The Raiders are also led by senior midfielder Zach Garma who’s part of a very deep roster that Williams will not hesitate using many substitutions to keep legs fresh for the breakneck style that they play. The Foxes (7-2-0, 5-1-0 in section) are always a good match-up for the Raiders, as they often will play more possession based system with play making midfielder Milo Chiu leading the charge.  In the first meeting between the two schools, Fox Chapel outlasted Seneca Valley, 2-1, as Aidan Stein and Chase Carney scored.  Owen Eastgate cut into the FC lead in the second half for the Raiders.
    • Class 3A – Moon vs West Allegheny – Will anyone beat Moon in section play this season?  It might take a rivalry match where records often get thrown out for it to happen.  West Allegheny (6-4-0, 5-2-0 in section) comes into this match in excellent form, having won four straight, after losing back-to-back close, 2-1 decisions to Moon and Montour earlier this month.  Harrison Murray scored twice in West A’s 5-1 win vs Ambridge last week.  Goal scoring hasn’t been a problem for the Tigers, who also easily defeated Ambridge last week to increase their goal differential this season to a whopping +59 (+45 in section) as they boast a handful of players posting six goals or more including Marc Haupt, Evan Thomas, Zech Balbach and Aeden Costa.
