Following a chaotic and dramatic round of knockout matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Pittsburgh Soccer Now Managing Editor John Krysinsky joined Mark Madden on 105.9 The X Tuesday afternoon to talk USMNT and the World Cup.

The conversation immediately centered on the U.S. Men’s National Team’s 4-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16 in Seattle—a match Krysinsky termed a Reality Bites moment for a program while Madden had a hard time finding any US players who put in a positive shift, particularly pointing out Christian Pulisic’s performance at the World Cup as a fraud.

Looking ahead to the quarterfinals, Krysinsky tabbed a disciplined and incredibly deep France squad as the clear tournament benchmark and team to beat, while labeling a resilient, slightly chaotic England side as a potential team of destiny.
