The U.S. Men’s National Team takes on Australia in a massive World Cup group stage showdown, and the epicenter of the city’s soccer community will be right down at F.N.B. Stadium. But that won’t be the only place where people are gathering to watch World Cup matches. There have been a lot of people sharing their expeirences with us at Pittsburgh Soccer Now about their World Cup viewing experiences. At the bottom of the article, check out our best attempt to provide a full list of places that are showing World Cup matches and having watch parties for USMNT (and other countries) matches. The South Side Echoes: Fans Bring the Noise for Eric Dick’s Return
If you tuned into the latest episode of the Sounding Off on Soccer Podcast or caught our recent video reel, you heard my breakdown of the incredible atmosphere at Highmark Stadium for the Riverhounds’ clash against Indy Eleven.
The big takeaway from the night?
The Highmark faithful didn’t hold back. Former Hounds goalkeeper Eric Dick made his highly anticipated return to the 412, and the Steel Army welcomed him back with a cascade of heavy boos every single time he touched the ball.
It was a phenomenal display of local soccer passion—proving that while Dick was a massive fan favorite during his stint in Pittsburgh, once you put on an opponent’s kit and step onto our pitch, the love affair is officially paused.
To relive the intensity of that match, make sure to check out Ed Thompson’s absolutely awesome match photo gallery over on Instagram or in PSN’s Photo Gallery post, capturing all the grit, tension, and raw emotion from a classic night at Station Square!

-
Thursday Night Revenge: The Steel City FC Women have an immediate opportunity for redemption at home at Founders Field as they host second-place Flower City 1872—the very team that handed them a tough 2-0 road loss last Saturday. They can also help the Riveters’ cause by playing spoiler for Flower City’s faint division title hopes.
-
Hounds on the Hunt: Coming off Lasse Kelp’s thrilling stoppage-time winner against Indy Eleven last weekend, the First Team takes their momentum on the road to Hartford looking for three massive points in the USL Championship table.

Riveters Clinch Watch: If Steel City can take points off Flower City on Thursday night, the first-place Riveters (6-0-1) could officially clinch the Great Forest Division title in front of the home fans on Sunday evening against Cleveland!
