USL League Two – Great Forest Division

FINAL: Toledo Villa 2, Steel City FC 1

Match Details

Down a man most of match, Steel City FC men suffered their first loss in regular season play since 2023, dropping to Toledo Villa, 2-1, at Paul Hotmer Field in Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday night.

Despite trailing 1-0 entering the last ten minutes of the match, Steel City FC kept pushing — and ultimately found the equalizer after second half sub Grant McIntosh (Duquesne) earned and finished on his penalty kick opportunity in the 87th minute.

McIntosh’s dramatic goal was eclipsed in the 90th minute, when Trace Terry hit the game winner on the end of a transition moment for Toledo.

Gijs Velings also scored to give Toledo the lead in the 60th minute.

Steel City were put behind the eight ball early in the match when Nathan Prex was sent off in the 14th minute with a red card for a hard challenge.

With this result, Steel City (7 points) remain in first place in the Great Forest Division standings.

The boys in Blue and Gold will return to action on Thursday, June 5, when they host Cleveland Force at Founders Field (7 p.m. kickoff).
